About 65 Scadding AvenueSt Lawrence on the Park

St Lawrence on the Park is located in the coveted St. Lawrence neighbourhood in downtown Toronto. It's in the midst of the best preserved part of Toronto, giving the area a modern twist on beautiful classic architecture.

You’ll be able to easily stay in shape with the exercise room and indoor swimming pool, and afterward you can take it easy and relax in the sauna. There's concierge service here too, so they can take care of the nitty gritty while you prioritize the important things in life.

This mid-rise is located at 65 Scadding Ave, and it's one of the most established condo buildings in downtown Toronto — originally built in 1988. The positive aspect of its age is that the layouts are considerably larger than a lot of the newer condos being constructed today. St Lawrence on the Park is a perfect choice for first time home buyers who are looking for a little more room in their homes. Its three-bedroom suites, together with the local parks in the area, also make it a great option for those who want to raise a family in an urban environment.

    The Suites

St Lawrence on the Park is a modern building that celebrates the Victorian architecture found throughout the St Lawrence neighbourhood. It stands at 10 storeys, and there are 249 individual units. There are both small and large units available in this building, with their square footage ranging considerably from 421 to 3965 square feet, making these downtown Toronto condos for sale appealing to a wide demographic.

The high ceilings and large picture windows give the condos plenty of light, as well as scenic views of Old Toronto.

    The Neighbourhood

65 Scadding Ave is in the St Lawrence neighbourhood, which is one of the most well preserved sections of Toronto. Where much of the city has seen glass clad high-rises built overtop heritage homes, in St Lawrence the old Victorian warehouses and factories have been transformed into stunning lofts. It looks much the same as it would have 100 years ago, except now these buildings house professionals and artists instead of industrial machines.

St Lawrence is named after the St. Lawrence Market, which is only a few minutes away from 65 Scadding Ave. This market is the oldest in the city, and it's still the go-to destination for some of the best food in the city. It's the place to be if you're building a charcuterie board because of its many sumptuous cheese and meat options. Butchers and fishmongers also ensure that you can pick up fresh protein.

You're also going to want to check out the nearby Distillery District. At one time this was the setting for the Gooderham and Worts distillery, but today it's one of the most vibrant commercial districts in the GTA. It attracts tourists and locals alike, and it's packed with fabulous restaurants that offer a wide variety of menus. If you're looking a modern take on classic French fare, head to Cluny Bistro, and if you're looking for something a little more low key, El Catrin or Mill Street Brew Pub are probably your best options.

You're going to fall in love with the sights and sounds of this neighbourhood. King St E is loaded with preserved heritage buildings, including the St James Cathedral. It may be hard to believe, but at one time this cathedral's spire was the tallest building in Canada. Obviously this isn't the case anymore, but you can still come here to admire it's stunning craftsmanship.

    Transportation

There are a lot of transportation options around St Lawrence on the Park. Buses serve the nearby Parliament St, and they can can help you reach the northeastern parts of the downtown core.

King Station is your closest subway station, only being a 15 minute walk away. This connects you to Line 1 Yonge-University, which stretches up to the northern reaches of the GTA. King is also only one stop away from Union Station, which is the city's primary train station. All of the GO Trains travel here, giving you access to places like Mississauga or Pickering.

You're going to discover pretty quickly that St Lawrence on the Park is also conveniently located close to the Gardiner Expressway. This highway carves a path across Toronto's waterfront, making it easy to travel throughout the downtown core. It also puts exciting places like High Park and Liberty Village within reach. If you're leaving Toronto Proper, you'll also appreciate that the Gardiner connects to other arterial highways like the Don Valley Parkway and Queen Elizabeth Way.
