    We have to admit something: the Buckingham Condos is not exactly as lavish as its British namesake. That said, 714 The West Mall and 716 The West Mall is still a great place to call home, especially for Torontonians looking for a peaceful retreat away from the frenzied City Centre.

    Mazel Construction Ltd. is responsible for the creation of the Buckingham Condos in 1975. The 19-storey building at 714 The West Mall and 716 The West Mall is home to a grand total of 434 Etobicoke condos, plus some pretty enviable common spaces. Residents have access to a gym, sauna, and indoor pool, as well as underground parking and a concierge.

    The Suites

    One great thing about older buildings is the variety of homes found within them — and this is especially true for a building like the Buckingham Condos, which contains over 400 suites. Since it’s been around for a handful of decades now, previous residents living at 714 The West Mall and 716 The West Mall have had plenty of time to upgrade features over the years — or even to renovate completely. That said, some of the suites haven’t received as much love, making these homes perfect for creative residents who plan to put their design skills to use.

Sherway Gardens and Woodbine Mall are both great options for those who need to update their wardrobes, and the latter also happens to contain an indoor amusement park. No Frills and Loblaws take 5 and 7 minutes to reach by car, respectively, while Costco and IKEA are also a 10-minute drive away.

    Transportation

    Don’t let the highways surrounding 714 The West Mall and 716 The West Mall fool you: the Buckingham Condos is also convenient for residents who don’t own cars. The 112 the West Mall bus is especially useful, as it makes a stop right in front of the building before heading toward Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line. A trip all the way down to the Entertainment District takes just over 1 hour when using the 112 bus and the subway.

    As for those who do drive, residents can reach the city centre in 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the traffic. Residents heading out of town can also drive to Pearson International Airport in just 10 minutes. And with both the 401 and the 427 right around the corner, residents can use these major highways to reach their destinations in a hurry.
