    About 138 Princess StreetEast Lofts

Okay, so we admit that the lofts at 275 King Street East and 138 Princess Street (traditionally going by the Princess address) aren’t currently home to any real princesses. There are no rules, however, about pretending every now and then. It’s also helpful, then, that the East Lofts happen to be rather luxurious.

Peter Clewes and his team at Architects Alliance are the masterminds behind the design of the East Lofts, while Harhay Construction Management helped their visions come to life. Slate-hued brick envelops the exterior for a sleek aesthetic, with oversized glass panes adding to the modernity of the façade.

Retail businesses can be found along the ground floor of the lofts at 138 Princess, for some added convenience. And speaking of functionality, amenities include a party room and meeting room, communal barbecues, and resident and visitor parking.

Nestled somewhere between the storefronts is the front door leading into the lobby. Once inside, glass and marble surround residents and their guests, juxtaposing palatial grace with contemporary style.

    The Suites

The East Lofts are divided into 127 Toronto lofts, just enough for a range of sizes and exposures without overwhelming residents with too many neighbours (or too much noise). These homes are spread out over 10 storeys, however certain lofts span two floors each.

Single buyers or couples will be more than satisfied in the cozier Toronto condos for sale, which start at approximately 500 square feet for a bachelor suite. Those in need of a little more wiggle room, on the other hand, will opt for the more extravagant homes, which span up to 2,100 square feet and boast two bedrooms plus dens.

As mentioned, the exterior of the building is scattered with large panes of glass. And what this translates to for the interiors might be even more impressive: the homes at 138 Princess Street are bathed in natural light, while the sweeping views of the city will never get old. Balconies or terraces also grace the homes, allowing residents a chance to spend time outdoors, all the while from the comfort of their own homes.

Ceiling heights of up to 9 or 10 feet make matters even better, allowing the sun’s rays to illuminate atypical features like concrete walls and exposed ductwork. Contrasting with these raw, loft-like elements, on the other hand, are the polished hardwood floors found throughout.

    The Neighbourhood

The East Lofts are situated in the heart of the St. Lawrence Market area, eliminating any chance for residents to experience boredom. With home located at 275 King Street East & 138 Princess Street, one can explore the Esplanade and St. Lawrence Market, the Financial District, Harbourfront, the West Don Lands, the Distillery District, and much, much more.

When the time comes to get serious and stock up on necessities, residents living at 138 Princess Street can head over to the Metro or No Frills on Front Street. St. Lawrence Market, on the other hand, is the go-to spot for fresh produce, meat, fish, cheeses, baked goods, and everything else under the sun. This market also happens to be one of the best in the world — and that’s not just our opinion, but has been confirmed by CNN and National Geographic in the recent past.

Residents can also saunter over to the Distillery District, where boutiques, galleries, cafés, and bars inhabit industrial, Victorian-style architecture that dates back to the 19th century. And those who really want to escape the hustle and bustle of city life will be happy to spend a day at Cherry Beach, Tommy Thompson Park, or traversing the trails along the Don River.

    Transportation

With its truly central location, the East Lofts is an ideal starting point for traveling around Toronto. Residents can choose their favourite means of transportation, and whether that be bicycle, car, or TTC, moving about the city is a breeze.

Union Station is located about one kilometer from 275 King Street East & 138 Princess Street, where those heading out of the city can access VIA Rail trains, GO buses and trains, and the UP service to Pearson International Airport. Streetcars along King Street East are yet another simple way to head east or west without access to a car of one’s own.

Driving around Toronto is straightforward when using the Gardiner Expressway, which can be accessed in mere minutes from the East Lofts. From here, drivers can also connect with the 427 to the west or the Don Valley Parkway to the east.
