About 377 Madison AvenueSouth Hill on Madison Condos

The name Madison Avenue may evoke ideas of a New York business district with Mad Men-like characters running around. However, prospective homeowners who know Toronto well are aware of the fact that this city’s Madison Avenue is quite the opposite: serene, tree-lined, and residential. Thankfully, the South Hill on Madison, located at 377 Madison Avenue in the Casa Loma neighbourhood, is still within close reach of Dupont’s restaurants and shops.

Developed by Burnac Corporation, this property deviates from the Edwardian aesthetic that dominates Madison. This modern, Art Deco inspired, 7-storey structure is just as elegant, though, thanks to the design thought up by the internationally experienced team at Northgrave Architects Inc.

The curves of this condominium give its design a sense of fluidity, and allows the building to stand out even considering its location across from the palatial Casa Loma. While it’s impossible to compete with Toronto’s very own castle, the exterior of 377 Madison resembles carved limestone, which thoughtfully respects the preexisting architecture throughout the neighbourhood.

And to top it all off, the amenities are quite generous: the fully-equipped gym contains state-of-art-equipment and a yoga studio; residents can entertain in the party room, on the common rooftop deck, or in the cinema. A visitor’s lounge is ready to welcome (and impress) friends and family, while the concierge is there to ensure everything runs smoothly.

    The Suites

The 159 suites within the South Hill on Madison Condos come in a variety of floor plans. Ranging in size from around 400 to 1,300 square feet, these living spaces consist of one bedroom to two bedroom plus den suites. Even the most modest of 377 Madison’s homes features a private balcony, while the largest boasts both a balcony and a terrace.

Regardless, the interior design of the condos is lavish, with kitchens featuring streamlined European cabinets, quartz countertops, and a porcelain tile backsplash. Surprisingly enough, the ensuite bathrooms are worth mentioning, and not just because of their custom-designed vanities: these bathrooms also feature sumptuous rain-style shower heads, which is a feature that's not found in all Toronto condos for sale.

    The Neighbourhood

The South Hill on Madison Condos sits close to a thriving stretch of Dupont in midtown Toronto, between Davenport and Christie. Residents living here can walk over to Shoppers Drug Mart to stock up on staples, or pick up a bottle of wine to pair with dinner at the nearby LCBO. An expansive Loblaws is also within close reach, at the corner of Dupont and Christie.

And luckily for outdoorsy types living in the building, plenty of green spaces surround the property, including Spadina Park and Glen Edyth Drive Park, just to name a few.

    Transportation

The TTC serves the neighbourhood quite well. On the way to Dupont’s restaurants and shops, residents will come across Dupont Station on the Yonge-University-Spadina line. Trains from Dupont travel north and south, with a ride down to Union Station taking about fifteen minutes.

Alternatively, 377 Madison is also well situated for those who drive. Traffic on Spadina Road moves efficiently, even south throughout the downtown core, thanks to this route’s division between streetcar tracks, driving lanes, and bike paths. Alternatively, when drivers’ destinations are further away, residents can reach the Don Valley Parkway in about fifteen minutes via Bayview.
