    Built in 1988, the Dakota Condos has a simple façade of red brick, with renovated interiors that are striking considering the unassuming exterior of the building. Its lobby is bright and elegant, with gold-clad elevators and a 24-hour security guard available at the front desk.

    A handful of convenient retail spaces occupy the ground floor of 225 Davenport, and the building also has a number of great amenities for residents to enjoy, including a gym, a parking garage, a sauna, security services, a library, a lounge, and a large rooftop deck.

    The Suites

    The Dakota Condos contains a total of 101 units throughout its 6 stories. They range from around 800 to almost 1800 square feet, and floor plans can come with 1 or 2 bedrooms, 1 or 2 bathrooms, and in some case dens or powder rooms. These suites are bright and spacious, thanks to high ceilings, large and plentiful windows, and thoughtful layouts.

    The suites at 225 Davenport are finished with stained hardwood, along with ceramics on bathroom and kitchen floors. Bathrooms are roomy, with built in soaker tubs finished in stone, while kitchens are equally posh, with stone breakfast counters, and sleek and modern cabinetry and appliances.

    A small number of suites also feature solariums or terraces, perfect for hosting an outdoor dinner or relaxing with a good book on warmer nights. While nobody would ever describe Yorkville condos for sale as being cheap or affordable, prices here are reasonable compared to other buildings in the neighbourhood.

    The Neighbourhood

    Located in the north end of the downtown core, the Dakota Condos are surrounded by the neighborhoods of Yorkville, The Annex, Casa Loma and Summerhill. This creates a strong blend of bustling city streets, along with quieter residential roads in between, providing both vibrance and peace-of-mind to residents.

    The Dakota Condos are also just a walk away from plenty of great streets like Spadina, Yonge, Bay, and Bloor, as well as Avenue Road and St. Clair Avenue. Between all of these, there are countless nearby hotspots for dining, shopping, or enjoying a night out. There are also a few shopping centers within close reach, each of which boasts their own grocery and liquor stores, such as Yorkville Village Mall and the Hudson’s Bay Centre.

    For a taste of culture or entertainment in the area, residents can visit venues like the Varsity Cinemas, or the George Ignatieff Theatre, as well as the Gardiner Museum or Royal Ontario Museum. And as for green space, being close to downtown doesn’t mean residents have to travel far to find great parks like Ramsden Park, Taddle Creek Park, David A. Balfour Park or Queen’s Park.

    Families will also be glad to hear that there are several schools close by, including Jessie Ketchum Junior and Senior Public School, Branksome Hall, George Brown College, and the University of Toronto St. George Campus.

    Transportation

    Getting around and exploring Toronto isn’t a problem for residents of the Dakota Condos. The building is close to both of Toronto’s main subway lines, with Rosedale Station only a 9-minute walk away, and Bay Station 11 minutes away on foot. Nearby buses also run along Avenue and Davenport Roads.

    Cyclists will make great use of bike lanes on nearby streets such as Wellesley or Sherbourne, while motorists can take Avenue road south in order to move through the downtown core, while a ride north allows drivers to reach the 401. The Don Valley Parkway is also a short drive to the east, with access via Bayview Avenue.
