About 1-25 Cole StreetOne Cole Condos

With a strong dedication to the neighbourhood and its community, the illustrious Daniels Corporation led a group of high-profile partners, including the Royal Bank of Canada, Sobeys and Tim Hortons, in the revitalization of the Regent Park neighbourhood. This undertaking started with the One Cole Condos, a socially and environmentally conscious, but nonetheless beautiful building.

Completed in 2010, this development stretches along 1-25 Cole Street, and features architectural design by Diamond Schmitt Architects. Aiming to establish a vibrant and fresh atmosphere, the designers carefully crafted the brick façade to frame the long, airy balconies of these richly textured, modern glass structures.

Indeed, the structure at 1-25 Cole is resoundingly modern: recognized for its eco-friendly design, it took home the 2010 Green Toronto Award and a LEED Gold Certification. The One Cole Condos features an innovative Living Wall, whose plant life act as a natural air filter for the building — just one of the many green features in the building. There are heat-recovery vents and a spectacular rooftop garden as well — features not found in most Toronto condos for sale.

Lastly, there are many amenities to be found at 1-25 Cole, like a 24-hour concierge service, a massive fitness centre, and an extraordinary party room. The last of these occupies a large 2-storey glass section of the building — a bright space wherein residents are proud to host friends and family.

    The Suites

One Cole Condos contains 292 Toronto condos in total, with options for one to two bedroom units, plus those with a den as well. Their sizes span about 450 to 1,300 square feet, and the developer’s goal to bring a vibrancy back into the community means the suites are all spacious, modernly appointed living spaces.

Ready for even the most ambitious cook, the suites’ kitchens contain a full range of stainless steel appliances. And, even though counter space is generous in all the suites, the larger floor plans offer generous kitchen islands.

Lastly, thanks to their floor-to-ceiling windows, an abundance of light comes into in 1-25 Cole’s suites, and flows freely courtesy of open-concept floor plans. Moreover, this fresh feeling extends even further out onto the suites’ expansive private balconies.

    The Neighbourhood

Since the developers of the One Cole Condos include Sobeys and Tim Hortons, residents can find groceries and coffee conveniently on the ground level of their homes. Nonetheless, beyond these easy options, the neighbourhood and its proud community offer so much more.

The Regent Park neighbourhood is charming, with many local restaurants and cafés catering to its diverse community. Additionally, amongst the abundance of green space in the area, there’s a massive park just down Cole Street, which contains the Regent Park Aquatic Centre.

Notably, the Regent Park’s revitalization has quickly come along thanks to the development of the Daniels Spectrum, just down the street. A cultural hub that’s open to anyone in the city, the Daniels Spectrum is home to many exciting cultural organizations, like Artscape and the Centre for Social Innovation. Additionally, it contains the Show Love Café, exhibits many local artists many throughout its hallways galleries, and offers excellent arts and educational programs.

Lastly, Regent Park sits between some of Toronto’s most celebrated neighbourhoods. Just north up Parliament Street is Cabbagetown, which offers an eclectic array of boutiques and restaurants, while heading south on Parliament leads to the historic Distillery District.

    Transportation

Since the One Cole Condos are downtown, albeit near the eastern edge, their neighbourhood is well served by public transit. There’s a streetcar running along on Dundas Street, which stops just steps away from 1-25 Cole. This streetcar, the 504 Dundas, takes riders into the Downtown Core in about ten minutes.

Residents who drive will find the location exceptional as well. If they’re heading north through the city to the 401, drivers can follow Dundas in order to merge onto the Don Valley Parkway in no time at all. Though if they’re heading west through the Core, the Gardiner Expressway is just as close, down near Sherbourne Avenue.
