Not one, but two stepped, 6-storey podiums sit at the base of the Mirvish + Gehry Condos Toronto. Atop one sits an 82-storey tower, while the other serves as the base for a skyscraper that reaches to 92 storeys. To put things simply, 150 King Street West is more than your average high rise &mdash; it&rsquo;s actually classified as a &lsquo;supertall&rsquo; structure.Beyond its height, the amount of space dedicated to retail is also impressive. Around 82,000 square feet of commercial space sits below the residences at 150 King St West, as well as an OCAD campus and a gallery called the Mirvish Collection.The building is the brainchild of David Mirvish, who, in an attempt to follow in his father&rsquo;s footsteps, is contributing to the ongoing development of <a href="https://strata.ca/toronto/downtown/king-west">King West</a>. Back in the 1960s Ed Mirvish converted warehouses surrounding the Royal Alexandra Theatre into restaurants, in an attempt to revitalize the theatre scene.David teamed up with Toronto-born celebrity architect Frank Gehry (who is best known in the city for redesigning the AGO in 2008) for this multi-use project at 150 King St West. And beyond the building&rsquo;s contribution to the arts and entertainment scene on King Street, it also happens to house nearly 2,000 <a href="https://strata.ca/toronto/condos">Toronto condo units</a>.

It doesn&rsquo;t get more central than a condo in the middle of the <a href="https://strata.ca/toronto/downtown/city-centre">City Centre neighbourhood</a>. Anyone who read the first part of this post can already guess that there are plenty of theatres surrounding 150 King St West, but the neighbourhood has much more to offer in terms of entertainment. Also around the corner is Roy Thompson Hall, where music fans can hear the Toronto Symphony Orchestra play, and the TIFF Bell Lightbox, a theatre that screens international and independent films.The Mirvish + Gehry Condos is also situated within walking distance of <a href="https://strata.ca/toronto/downtown">downtown Toronto</a> landmarks like the Eaton Centre, City Hall, and Union Station. And while all the restaurants that surround the building will be tempting enough, residents can also walk just one block in order to reach either the Market by Longo&rsquo;s at First Canadian Place or McEwan under the TD Bank Tower.

The entrance to the building is just steps away from St. Andrew Station on the University-Spadina subway line, while King Station on the Yonge line takes just 7 minutes to reach by foot.Those who do drive will love having the Gardiner Expressway so close at hand. Once on this major highway, drivers can zip east toward the Don Valley Parkway or head west in order to connect onto the 427.
