About 19-25 Cunningham Avenue — Signature Living Luxury Townhomes
Renowned for their custom yet traditional homes, and ones that are built with a meticulous attention to detail no less, Nascent Development’s first foray into constructing condominiums is a resounding success. Although the developers deviated from their usual designs when building at 19 Cunningham Avenue in the west end of Toronto, Nascent has kept true to the quality execution they’ve built their reputation on. Based on the quality alone, it makes perfect sense these homes are called the Signature Living Luxury Townhomes.
Completed in 2015, 19 Cunningham consist of five Toronto townhouses, and stands at 3 storeys tall. The complex’s modern architecture features a stylish arrangement of cubic forms. Thoughtfully, this artful aesthetic is grounded by Nascent Development’s choice of distinguished materials: this includes resolute dark brickwork and gleaming glass walls along balconies and exterior staircases. And facing Cunningham, each Signature Living Luxury Townhome showcases three voluminous windows with brilliantly proportioned frames, slightly reminiscent of Mondrian’s masterpieces.
Plenty of tall trees surround 19 Cunningham, creating a lush canopy and complementing these homes’ modern architecture. Moreover, the residence does not burden residents with the costly maintenance of amenities that might have gone underused by busy residents. Of course, thanks to this premium location just north of vibrant Queen Street West, Nascent Developments definitely knew that the South Parkdale neighbourhood’s local community could offer residents everything they’d want and need.
The Suites
While united by a common architectural façade, the floorplans of the 5 units at the Signature Living Luxury Townhomes differ in size: they range from around 1,800 to over 2,400 square feet. Nonetheless, all of the suites span 3 storeys and boast three bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a powder room — well suited for their residents to really settle into.
All outfitted with a modern aesthetic, 19 Cunningham’s open-concept Toronto condos for sales take full advantage of the abundance of natural light flowing through their enormous windows. The ensuing brightness, along with hardwood floors throughout and solid oak staircases, grants residents a fresh atmosphere throughout their homes.
Finally, the kitchens may just be their signature elements — no pun intended. Featuring chic, Italian designed Pedini cabinetry with stone countertops and matching backsplashes, these rooms are a treat for home cooks: residents can enjoy prepping meals using state-of-the-art stainless steel gas stoves, which are also prepared for the grandest of culinary ambitions.
The Neighbourhood
Despite their fantastic kitchens, those living at 19 Cunningham may still find themselves going out to eat often — there are just too many diverse options a short walk away, along Queen Street West in Parkdale. Whether one is craving tacos, southern barbecue, authentic roti, or almost anything else, there’s likely a reasonably priced restaurant in Queen West to satisfy their stomachs.
Following a meal, residents can also enjoy a drink at one of the neighbourhood’s many trendy bars and microbreweries. And, of course, Parkdale is home to more than just indulgent eating and drinking: there are also boutiques and funky cafés for those looking for daytime diversions.
Nevertheless, the community in Parkdale is passionate: a vibrant youth space can be found in the West Neighbourhood House on Queen West between Beaty and Dowling Avenues; and the Parkdale Public Library, also on Queen close to Cowan Avenue, contains much of the Rita Cox Black & Caribbean Heritage Collection.
Finally, residents can consider joining the West-End Food Co-op. Located on Queen West near Noble Street, and just a few minute’s walk from the Signature Living Luxury Townhomes, members of this Co-op are connected to local farmers raising and producing top quality, sustainable foods.
Transportation
Residents can get around the city easily, car or no car. The closest TTC stop is on Lansdowne at Seaforth Avenue, in front of the Parkdale Community Recreation Centre. Located about five minutes from the Signature Living Luxury Townhomes, this stop is serviced by the 47 Bus. This route loops at Queen East and heads north all the way to Yorkdale mall, with a stop at Lansdowne Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line along the way.
Alternatively, 19 Cunningham’s residents can also hop onto the 501 Streetcar, which stops on Queen at both Brock and O’Hara Avenue (the two streets at either end of the condos’ block). The 501 proves quite convenient for those heading east and west across the city, especially when one’s destination is in the downtown core.
Finally, for those who usually drive, residents find that the Signature Living Luxury Townhomes are well positioned: it often takes less than five minutes to access the Gardiner Expressway, which can be reached via Jameson Avenue.
