About 250 Jarvis Street250 Jarvis Condos

There’s nothing flashy about the architecture at 250 Jarvis Street: the understated brown brick edifice was constructed back in 1990, and reaches to just 10 storeys.

And while amenities are limited at the 250 Jarvis Condo’s, residents don’t seem to mind, since these downtown Toronto condos are set in the heart of the city. Still, those living in the building have access to a gym, sauna, and 24-hour concierge, as well as guest parking.

    The Suites

One benefit to living in an older building is larger unit sizes. None of the Toronto condos for sale and rent at 250 Jarvis measure in at less than 800 square feet, with the largest suites spanning up to 1,200.

Condo seekers interested in 250 Jarvis can expect to find one bedroom plus den, two bedroom, and three bedroom homes, many of which are equipped with generously sized balconies and large windows.

    The Neighbourhood

It’s hard to beat living in Toronto’s City Centre neighbourhood. Reaching from the Gardiner Expressway up to Gerrard Street, and from University across to Jarvis, this area is home to some of Toronto’s most iconic, impressive, and beloved attractions.

One of the most Iconic landmarks in the neighbourhood has to be City Hall, a modernist work of art that happens to double as the place where important municipal decisions are made. Just outside is Nathan Phillips Square, a large plaza that’s home to one of the best skating rinks in the city, come wintertime.

In terms of beloved spots in downtown Toronto’s City Centre, the award would definitely go to the Eaton Centre. The proof is in the numbers: the mall’s 50 million annual visitors makes it busier than the two most trafficked shopping centres south of the border.

And last but not least, Union Station might just be the most impressive feature of the City Centre neighbourhood. First opened in 1927 and rebuilt in the 1970s, the ‘Great Hall’ looks as though it’s straight out of a movie, with its ultra-high ceilings and bronze, limestone, and marble details.

    Transportation

While driving around downtown Toronto takes patience — and maybe even courage — car owners living at 250 Jarvis St quickly learn some tricks to help them navigate the traffic. Jarvis Street, for example, is a highly efficient route for anyone headed north or south: this street features a fifth middle lane that changes direction depending on whether north- or south-bound traffic is heavier.

Residents who rely on public transit to get around have countless options for travelling about the city. For one, Yonge Street is just a few blocks away, as is the Dundas subway station. Once at this station, passengers can ride trains heading north and south along the Yonge line, with the chance to transfer onto the Bloor-Danforth line at Bloor-Yonge station.

And prospective residents who plan to leave town every now and then will be glad to hear that Pearson International Airport takes just 45 minutes to reach via public transit. After a quick subway ride down to Union Station, travellers can hop onto an UP Express train, at which point the airport is a 25-minute ride away.
