About 625 Queen Street EEdge Lofts

Right next to the Don River, and within the revitalized Leslieville & South Riverdale neighbourhood, is the Edge Lofts at 625 Queen Street East. Formerly a car dealership, this striking building represents the pinnacle of Toronto's modern multi-residential constructions, with its intelligent architecture, spacious suites, and a terrific location to boot.

Built in 2009, the Edge Lofts offers residents easy access to downtown Toronto, all the local hot-spots Leslieville is known for, as well as panoramic views of the lake and the CN Tower. The building is aesthetically unique with its geometric and cubist-inspired façade of glass and steel, especially when compared with the myriad of brickwork edifices found throughout the area.

Amenities featured at 625 Queen East include a conference room, party room, parking garage for visitors and residents. Plus, the building boasts a lovely rooftop patio with barbecues, perfect for enjoying the few months of tolerable weather afforded to Torontonians each year. The Edge Lofts also features ground floor retail: the space is currently home to a medical clinic and Il Ponte, an Italian restaurant.

    The Suites

The Edge Lofts is home to 66 units spread over 6 storeys. Toronto condos for sale here range in size from approximately 600 to 1750 square feet. These luxurious suites come with 1-2 bedrooms, 1-2 bathrooms and comfortable dens, as well as walk-in closets in master bedrooms. The elegant units at 625 Queen East should satisfy residents with an aesthetic eye, and a taste for ritzy living.

With 10-foot high ceilings, enormous and plentiful windows, polished concrete floors and spacious open-concept layouts, suites are bright and inviting. As well, many of these units feature large balconies, where residents can relax or survey the streets and the river below.

Kitchens in these suites are sleek and modern, complete with stone counters, stainless steel appliances, and islands or breakfast bars for dining. Bathrooms are finished with stone counters and tasteful ceramics. reflecting the same attention for lavish design.

    The Neighbourhood

With a mix of new and old, this neighborhood is host to plenty of terrific shops, venues, restaurants, bars and cafés. As well, 625 Queen East is not far from the Distillery District and St. Lawrence Market, if residents decide they need a change of pace (although with all of it’s hip hot-spots, that’s quite unlikely).

One of Riverside’s most unique elements are the historic edifices adorning the area, including the stunning Broadview Hotel with its beautiful rooftop patio, or The Opera House, a fantastic venue for concerts. And best of all, both of these Toronto staples are just down the street from the Edge Lofts.

Residents have plenty of options for dining, between the Danforth to the north and all the popular eateries along Queen East and Dundas East. However, if residents prefer to cook for themselves, they can easily visit the nearby markets in East Chinatown, or the large TNT Supermarket, just south of Lake Shore Boulevard off Cherry Street.

A number of parks are a located within walking distance, including Corktown Common, Joel Weeks Park, Bruce Mackey Park, and Riverdale Park. Between the last two on the list, residents have access to skating rinks, baseball diamonds, dog parks, tennis courts and a recreation centre.

Several schools also service the area around 625 Queen East, such as Queen Alexandra Public School, SEED Alternative School, Degrassi Community School, St. Paul Catholic School, Nelson Mandela Park Public School, Eastdale Collegiate, and Riverdale Collegiate.

    Transportation

Whether walking, biking, or riding public transit, the location of the Edge Lofts makes moving around easy for residents. There's a TTC stop just outside the building’s entrance, and streetcars can be ridden along Queen East, Dundas East, and Broadview Avenue.

Alternatively, drivers will relish the fact that the Don Valley Parkway is so close, which can be easily accessed from 625 Queen East. From here, reaching the Gardiner Expressway or the 401 is straightforward as can be.
