    About 71 Charles StreetPaxton Place

Paxton Place Condos are one of the most well established buildings in the city. A short walk is all it takes to get around the entire city as this address is centrally located around Bloor-Yonge Station — a transfer station and one of the busiest transit hubs in the GTA. 71 Charles St E is also close Yorkville, one of the most coveted neighbourhoods in the city. Shopping, dining, public transit, it’s all located right here.

Having been completed in 1983, the exterior of 71 Charles East may not be as flashy or trendy as many of the new condo developments being built today, but its simple design could be the perfect fit for those who looking for a conveniently located home with an understated design. Besides, there's no arguing with the wide open floor plans that are nearly impossible to find with newer units.

    The Suites

This building is located on the southeastern corner of Church and Charles Streets, and it stands tall at 16 storeys. Despite its height and large footprint, it only has 101 downtown Toronto condos. One of the advantages of living in an older building is that you’re lucky enough to get incredibly large suites. Toronto condos for sale here range from 1,315 to 2,735 square feet, making even the smallest suites larger than the biggest units in many of the developments being built in downtown today.

The suites come as either two-bedroom or three-bedroom units. In a landscape dominated by towers replete with one-bedroom condos, this could be the perfect solution for the young professional who’s intending on starting a family, but still wants to live in the downtown core.

The large suites are further bolstered by the open floor plans that give them a feeling of being even larger. They also have unique features that are hard to come by in modern glass towers. Its units are equipped with solariums and fireplaces, two luxuries that help you relish every season on the calendar.

Paxton Place Condos have shown that they were way ahead of their time with their amenities. In a time when pools were considered a major luxury, the developers included an indoor pool into their plans, complete with a sauna. There’s also a rooftop terrace, something that’s become a thriving trend in today’s development scene.

    The Neighbourhood

71 Charles St E is in the veritable heart of downtown Toronto, in the eclectic Yonge and Bloor neighbourhood. Yonge and Bloor are arguably Toronto’s two most important streets, so it’s no surprise that they’re packed with shops, restaurants, bars, nightlife, and more.

The nearby stretch of Bloor is known as Mink Mile, and this is the hot spot for all of the designer label stores in the city. World renowned brands are all accessible here, including Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Prada, Burberry, and much more.

There’s more than just high-end clothing stores in the area. 71 Charles St E has a near perfect Walk Score of 98/100. This means that everything you need will be right at your fingertips. Yonge Street is lined with specialty stores that range from costume shops to vape stores. Of course, there are also plenty of grocery stores in the area to provide your everyday goods.

    Transportation

You can’t talk about Paxton Place Condos without mentioning Bloor-Yonge Station. This is the busiest subway station in the city, seeing nearly 400,000 riders a day. The reason it’s so integral is that it’s the main transfer station in the city, capable of taking travelers toward four different directions. Southbound, you’ll head toward the Financial District; northbound you’ll head up to North York; eastbound you’ll pass through the Danforth beyond to Scarborough; and westbound you’ll pass by High Park on to Etobicoke.

If you’re a driver, you’re in luck. As mentioned before, Bloor and Yonge are the two most important streets in Toronto, meaning they can be your primary thoroughfares for traveling across the city.

You’re also in good shape if you’re looking to hop onto the highway. The Don Valley Parkway is very accessible, and it’s one of the most important highways in the city because it connects the Gardiner Expressway together with the Ontario 401 — opening up a gateway for all of Southern Ontario.
