About 55 East Liberty StreetBliss Condos

It’s a bold move for a developer to call a residence the Bliss Condos. This name is clearly testament to the confidence CanAlfa Group had when planning 55 East Liberty Street in Liberty Village neighbourhood. The glass and concrete façade isn’t as delicate as the name might suggest, however the amenities offered to the residents living inside definitely justify the name.

The 2011-built, 20-storey Bliss Condos contains 276 units, as well as plenty of communal spaces. For one, there’s a landscaped courtyard with a water feature, which is shared between residents of 55 East Liberty, the Liberty Towers Condos and Liberty Village Townhomes. Inside the building is an indoor pool and hot tub, a gym that’s equipped with change rooms, lockers and saunas, and a party room with catering kitchen. Residents can also find a terrace with barbecues and a wet bar up on the roof.

Making life that much easier for residents are features like guest suites, visitor parking, a self-serve car wash station, outdoor bicycle parking, and a concierge. And for an added touch of convenience, the building’s lobby and underground parking can be reached from driveways on both the east and west sides of the building.

    The Suites

Liberty Village tends to attract a mixed bag of residents, and the Bliss Condos only adds to this diversity. The building is home to suites that start at around 350 and read to approximately 1,500 square feet, which means anyone from a single young professional to a small family will be comfortable here. Suites contain up to two bedrooms plus dens, and there are even some studios to be found at 55 East Liberty.

Ceiling heights generally reach to 9 feet, with the exception of the penthouses, which boast 10-foot ceilings. Kitchens are just modern enough thanks to granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. Most of the homes in the building boast balconies and all are covered in double-glazed thermal windows, which helps to improve energy efficiency. But perhaps best of all are the views: units facing east look out over the city skyline, while south-facing suites boast stunning views of Lake Ontario.

    The Neighbourhood

When Torontonians think of Liberty Village, what comes to mind is probably those blueberry buttermilk pancakes at Mildred’s Temple Kitchen or Lamport Stadium, where Toronto FC matches are held. While these are both certainly neighbourhood mainstays, 55 East Liberty happens to be set on one of the neighbourhoods quieter residential streets.

On top of all the commercial offerings in Liberty Village, 55 East Liberty is also within close reach of a handful of parks. Liberty Village, Bill Johnston, and Gateway Parks are all green spaces in the neighbourhood, while Garrison Common and Coronation Park are also just a short walk away.

    Transportation

Residents living at 55 East Liberty don’t need a car to get around the city with ease. However, those who prefer to drive will love living so close to the Gardiner Expressway. This major highway can be reached via Lake Shore Boulevard West, and is useful for anyone heading west toward Etobicoke or east to the Don Valley Parkway.

The building is located a short walk away from King Street and Fleet Street, where residents can catch streetcars heading east or west. The 63 bus is even more convenient, however, as it makes a stop right at East Liberty and Pirandello Street West before continuing north to Ossington Station on the Bloor-Danforth line, and Eglinton Station on the University-Spadina line after that.
