About 45 Dovercourt RoadCabin Toronto Condos

Specializing in boutique residences, Curated Properties’ development at 45 Dovercourt Road is no exception. This exclusive building may be much anticipated, but prospective buyers will have to act fast if they want a chance to live at Cabin Toronto. While they may be inspired by Northern Canadian retreats, the homes are anything but rugged. These modern lodges are housed within a contemporary building, and nestled into a charming area in the southern end of the vibrant Queen West neighbourhood.

Completed in 2018, Raw Design’s architecture for 45 Dovercourt is both sophisticated and familiar. Working with local artisans and millworkers, the 6-storey Cabin Toronto features an innovative wood-clad exterior with distinguished metal paneling, designed to resemble rural Canadian homes.

Still, 45 Dovercourt diverges just enough from its countryside inspiration: the cubic structure proves distinctly contemporary, showcasing sleek sets of massive windows, as well as gleaming glass walls adorning balconies and terraces. Those outdoor spaces, together with street-level gardens, provide residents with enviable outdoor spaces in the core of downtown Toronto.

Finally, the developers at Curated Properties and Raw Design carefully selected a practical set of amenities to offer to residents. The Cabin Toronto contains a party room and a lively common rooftop deck, both of which are styled by the acclaimed Mason Design Studio.

    The Suites

While the wood exterior may do a better job at catching the eye, inside 45 Dovercourt is where the developer’s collaboration with Canadian millworkers shines through. Cabin Toronto’s 25 suites feature wide-plank, white oak flooring, which looks even more gorgeous when lit naturally: thankfully, an abundance of natural light flows in through the building’s many floor-to-ceiling windows.

For those wondering why Cabin Toronto’s wraparound balconies and terraces are only found on every other floor, it’s because their 25 suites each span 2 storeys. The units range in size from approximately 700 to 1,600 square feet, and feature one to three bedrooms. Floor plans are open concept, with living and dining areas as well as kitchens located on the main levels, and extending out onto those aforementioned private outdoor spaces from there.

Conversely, the bedrooms in upper levels of 45 Dovercourt’s suites are more serene — especially those that they connect to lavish master bathrooms. Featuring a combination of natural stone, marble, and porcelain, as well as wood accents, these spa-like bathrooms boast large showers and soaker tubs as per plan.

Of course, with just 25 units in this building, the chances of landing Toronto condos for sale here aren't great, and buyers will need to keep their eyes peeled if they're set on this property.

    The Neighbourhood

While Cabin Toronto sits in a quieter section of Dovercourt, it’s just a short walk down the street from the trendy scene and exciting nightlife of the Queen West neighbourhood. Many of the city’s most hyped bars and restaurants line Queen West near Dovercourt, including the ones found in the Drake Hotel near Beaconsfield Avenue.

And with all the options to explore, it’s a good thing residents have time to get to know this neighbourhood intimately. Unlike those who just visit for an exciting night out every now and then, residents can really become part of the engaged community in the. For instance, the Great Hall is an event venue at the north end of the block that hosts a farmers markets and other seasonal festivals, thanks to a variety of devoted, community-oriented organizers.

Additionally, the strong community in the neighbourhood fought hard for the revitalization of Lisgar Park, which sits around the corner from 45 Dovercourt. The renovation was completed in 2017, and brought in 88 trees, 330 seats, and a brand new playground. It also led to the installation of 25 salvaged wood poles, which allow electricity to light up Lisgar Park during its exciting public events.

    Transportation

Living in such a popular neighbourhood has its perks, one of them being that the TTC serves the residents. Travelling east and west and covering much of the city, the 501 Streetcar runs along Queen Street and happens to stop at Dovercourt, a short walk away.

Alternatively, residents can also walk south down Sudbury to reach the 504 King Streetcar, which also runs east and west. Conveniently, both the 501 and 504 Streetcars allow riders to transfer onto the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line in about fifteen minutes, at Osgoode and St. Andrew Stations, respectively.

Last but not least, Cabin Toronto is well-located for those who prefer to drive, especially since residents can access the highway in under ten minutes when the traffic cooperates. Drivers need only head west to Jameson Avenue, which leads south toward an onramp for the Gardiner Expressway.
