    Bounded by the Gardiner Expressway to the south and Bloor Street to the north, The Queensway and Sunnylea area is a sprawling neighbourhood in Etobicoke, with easy commuter access for residents who work downtown. On tree-lined residential streets you’ll find single family detached homes — bungalows, world war II homes, and 2 storey houses.

    The northern section of the neighbourhood is known as Sunnylea; The Queensway is found in the south, centered around the road that bears its name. Both sections of the neighbourhood are balanced between commercial and residential, but residents in the south have more of a selection for dining and shopping; for this reason, The Queensway condos enjoy a better location than their counterparts in the north.

    Residents have an abundance of green spaces and natural scenery to enjoy — the Humber River extends along the western boundary of the neighbourhood, shadowed the by the picturesque Humber River Recreational Trail. Mimco Creek runs through the center of the neighbourhood, meandering its way through parks and providing additional walking trails.

    There are businesses located throughout the neighbourhood, but the majority are clustered near The Queensway, Islington, and Bloor. This neighbourhood has a lot to offer in the way of convenience; there are dining options for fast food, international and upscale cuisine, as well as pubs, retails stores, and a vast selection of service based businesses — salons, fitness centres, and financial services.

    This is an especially desirable neighbourhood for families — there are a plethora of schools in the area, as well as playgrounds, swimming pools, skating rinks, and a variety of sports complexes.

For longer trips, Old Mill Station – Platform is just north of the neighbourhood for subway lines.

    Car owners would be hard pressed to find a more driver friendly location so close to downtown — the Gardiner Expressway sits on the southern border of the neighbourhood, and the 427 is just a few minutes west, making it easy to connect to highways and avoid city traffic.

    Code of Conduct: Residents of Sunnylea drink SunnyD by the litre — they don’t really… if you got that reference, you grew up in the 90s, and if drank much of it, you’re probably still on a sugar high right now.

    What You’ll Find: An affluent neighbourhood with a country feel.

    What You Won’t Find: Sidewalks on all roads.

    The Homes: Large single-family homes, and low-rise apartments and condos.
