Renting a home in The Queensway | Sunnylea

It’s easy to overlook the Queensway and Sunnylea when searching for the perfect neighbourhood to call home. These two neighbourhoods don’t quite touch Lake Ontario, and the Humber River separates them from High Park. So while King’s Mill Park and the Mimico Creek aren’t necessarily household names, that’s not a problem as those who seek Toronto condos for rent in this neighbourhood tend to be attracted to the unruffled atmosphere in the Queensway and Sunnylea.

Queensway and Sunnylea are quite large in size: they reach from Islington to the Humber River, and from Bloor Street to the Gardiner Expressway. Queensway makes up the northern portion of this section of the city, with Sunnylea comprising everything south of Norseman Street.

As previously mentioned, a number of parks and waterways can be found throughout Sunnylea and the Queensway. Not only can residents enjoy exploring the green spaces on either side of Mimico Creek, but a number of parks are also situated on the western shore of the Humber River. Adventurous types can even rent a canoe or kayak from Toronto Adventures Humber River Paddling Centre.

Sunnylea condos for rent may not have a reputation for their proximity to the best shopping in town, however residents can still stock up on necessities at the stores situated along the Queensway and Bloor Street West. Plus there are a couple of longstanding institutions worth visiting whenever one has the chance, like Tom’s Dairy Freeze and Kingsway Fish and Chips. And best of all (at least for some renters), there’s a Costco within the neighbourhood, at Queen Elizabeth Boulevard and the Gardiner Expressway.

Condo Life in The Queensway | Sunnylea

Prospective residents who have their sights set on Sunnylea condos for rent are in luck, as prices here tend to be significantly lower than in the downtown core. That said, prospective renters still need to act fast when they find something they like, as there are only 11 condos in the area. And those who prefer to live near Bloor Street only have two options: The Montgomery and a townhouse complex known as the Old Mill Terrace Townhomes.

The remainder of the Sunnylea and the Queensway condos for rent are concentrated around the Queensway. The Qube Condos, The Hive Lofts, and 700 The Queensway Condos are particularly well suited to those looking for a peaceful environment, since these buildings each contain less than 100 suites.

    Transportation

Travelling to and from Sunnylea and the Queensway is easy, with or without a car. Sunnylea condos for rent, for example, are within close reach of Islington and Royal York subway stations on the Bloor-Danforth line. Once at either of these stations, residents can ride east in order to reach central Toronto neighbourhoods like the Annex and Yorkville.

As for those who live farther south, residents can hop onto buses that make stops outside of the aforementioned stations. Alternatively, the 80 Sherway bus carries passengers toward Parkdale, with the chance to connect onto the 501 Streetcar at Windermere Avenue.

Drivers, on the other hand, can use highways like the Gardiner Expressway, the Queen Elizabeth Way, and the 427 to get around. The former carries cars into the city centre, while the latter is useful for anyone heading toward Pearson International Airport.
