Named for the green space that’s found within its borders, Pelmo Park is a North York neighbourhood, that’s home to quiet residential streets lined with tall trees and detached houses; most dwellings in the area are bungalows, world war II homes and 2-storey houses. If you’re looking for Pelmo Park condos, you’re going to be looking for a while, because developers have largely overlooked this neighbourhood.
Pelmo Park is an excellent neighbourhood for nature lovers who enjoy outdoor activities, or anybody who prefers a slower pace; Pelmo Park is bounded by Black Creek to the east and the Humber River to the west, and in addition to several parks in the neighbourhood, residents have the Humber River Recreational Trail for a scenic stroll.
While predominantly residential, there’s commercial space on the west side of the neighbourhood; there you’ll find big box stores, supermarkets, restaurants, and a few clothing boutiques. Those who are athletically inclined have Good Life Fitness, and nutrition based stores to feed their workouts.
As a family area, you can expect to find salons, cleaners, security services — plus some government buildings and corporate offices. There are schools in the neighbourhood — public and private — and plenty of sports fields on the east side of the neighbourhood at Pelmo Park.
With quiet residential streets, ample green spaces, affordable prices, and a decent commercial area — Pelmo park condos should be in demand… Apparently, nobody ever explained that to condo developers, because there are no Toronto condos for sale in Pelmo Park, because there are no Pelmo Park condos.
Those looking for a condo here are out of luck — but there are some apartment buildings in the area which offer a similar experience to a condo. But for the time being, condo life here has more questions than answers.
Pelmo Park has a Walk Score of 57 — which is likely a higher grade than anyone would give to the condo scene. Most residents will require a vehicle or public transit to run errands, but those on the west side might be able to get things done on foot. Bus route 59 services most of the area, and there are additional routes nearby for travel outside of the neighbourhood.
The majority of residents are car owners — and Pelmo Park condos would have been perfect for them — which makes sense because this neighbourhood is very friendly to drivers; with the 400 running through the neighbourhood and the 401 just to the north, drivers can easily reach downtown Toronto in a hurry.
