Looking for an affordable home? Despite the GTA’s reputation for high housing prices, there are still plenty of opportunities to find a charming abode without breaking the bank.

Whether you're a first-time buyer, downsizing, or simply looking for a great deal — properties under $600,000 can offer the perfect blend of value and comfort.

So here are some homes currently on the market that hopefully won't exceed your budget.

    486 Northcliff Blvd W

There’s only one detached house for sale in the GTA for under $600K. And fair warning — it needs some TLC due to fire damage.

Listed for $599,000 in Toronto’s Oakwood-Vaughan neighbourhood, the property is being sold "as is where is". In other words, there’s no warranties regarding the structure, electrical, plumbing, foundation, roof, furnace, condition, sizes, air quality, or AC/heating units. But, if you're handy and up for a project, this could be a great opportunity to restore it to its former glory.

And it does have potential. It’s a spacious three-bed, two-bath detached home on a 25 by 114 foot lot with a separate garage.

As you venture closer to the city centre, there will be some things you need to compromise on — like space and parking. But fear not, there are still some great places to call home for under $600K.

For example, this one-bedroom condo in the Victoria Lofts. It’s located in a 19th-century church loft conversion at 152 Annette St.

This condo is a rare find, with only 34 units in the entire building, offering a distinctive living experience in one of Toronto's most sought-after neighbourhoods.

With soaring ceilings, a 12-foot-wide living and dining area, and an abundance of natural light — this 588 square-foot, open-concept layout seamlessly connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas.

The kitchen boasts modern appliances and sleek finishes. While the bathroom features contemporary fixtures and a spa-like ambiance. This property is listed for $599,900 and condo fees are about $562 a month.

If you’re into hard lofts, this one in The Warehouse Lofts is beautiful. The stunning two-storey space has been professionally designed and renovated to perfection. Breathtaking, light-filled living areas boast soaring 17-foot ceilings, creating an airy and spacious feel.

The primary bedroom overlooks a serene rooftop terrace filled with lush greenery, offering a peaceful retreat. You can wake up to a sun-drenched south-facing view of Lake Ontario and you’re steps away from the brand-new multi-use Grand Avenue Park, which includes a large dog park.

The loft has one-bedroom and two bathrooms and is listed for $599,999.

    412 Jarvis St, Unit 105

If you’re looking for something unique with charm and character, that can be tricky to find. However, this one-bedroom condo is cute as a button.

It’s located in the Windsor Lofts, a charming five-storey residence that has New York brownstone vibes.

Listed for just $549,000 this one-bedroom, one-bathroom condo was just renovated last year. It got new vinyl floors, a new bathroom and kitchen with new counters, backsplash, and stainless steel appliances — including a new over-the-counter microwave.

And with only 30 units in the building, residents can enjoy a quaint atmosphere and a pet-friendly policy. But for those moments you’re craving some liveliness, you’re just steps away from The Village in Toronto's busy Church Street Corridor.
