About 21-53 Shaftesbury Avenue — 21 Shaftesbury Condos
Surrounded by quiet residential streets and two of Toronto’s most scenic ravines, sits the condos at 21 Shaftesbury Avenue. This modern yet inviting low-rise condo offers singles, couples or families a convenient space to settle down, in the highly desirable urban sweet spot between midtown and downtown Toronto.
Completed as of 2015, The 21 Shaftesbury Condos holds 50 Toronto condos over 5 storeys. The building has a warm facade of red brick and stucco, surrounded by small trees and landscaped shrubbery. This building provides residents with the comfort, security and solitude so sought after in Toronto, while still being close at hand to the excitement of the city.
The amenities only extend the value of Toronto condos for sale within this well-located residence. The building features a gym and exercise room, a pool, a large party room and separate conference room and library, as well as parking for visitors and residents.
What’s more, the lobby is quite a sight to behold, especially in relation to the building’s more modest exterior, with its 4 story ceiling, blue and white tiled floors, and a grand piano to boot.
The Suites
Units at 21 Shaftesbury Avenue are modernly designed, spacious and bright, with high ceilings, and floor plans that range from 643 square feet to 4198 square feet. Suites can feature crown mouldings, hardwood floors and even fireplaces.
Many units have large balconies overlooking the residential areas. Kitchens and bathrooms are furnished with tile or wood floors for a truly contemporary finish.
The Neighbourhood
For many residents, the best part of living at 21 Shaftesbury is quick access to Summerhill Station, which is directly across the street from the building. Though this gateway to the rest of Toronto is several steps away, the Summerhill neighbourhood has no lack of restaurants, bars, cafes or shops.
As well, several grocery stores and convenience stores lie within 1 kilometer of the building. Additionally, more densely packed streets like St. Clair or Bloor are just a quick subway trip away.
Fun (and gross) fact: The LCBO one block south of 21 Shaftesbury Avenue sits in the old North Toronto Station, which celebrated the 100th anniversary of its construction in 2016. When the clocks from the building’s tower were removed in 1948, pigeons would take up residence and their droppings accumulated, to the point that they weighed close to 9000 lbs when removed during renovations — but don’t worry, the clocks have been back in place for decades now.
Some residents might enjoy the close proximity to venues like the TD Art Gallery or the Spadina House Museum, while others will love the more specialized commercial gyms and clubs in the area like the York Racquets Club.
There are at least 5 schools (of public, private, or Montessori variety) within 2 kilometers, and the closest Cineplex is only a four-minute walk south on Yonge Street.
Additionally, there are 5 parks within 1 kilometer of the Condos at 21 Shaftesbury Avenue, with Price-field Playground just next to the building, and the enormous David. A Balfour Park only half a kilometer away. As well, Ramsden Park and Rosedale Valley are just a short trip away.
Transportation
There are TTC bus stops a minute away, which can take passengers north or south along Yonge Street almost all hours of the day or night. Of course, residents may never have to take the Yonge bus, thanks to the entrance to Summerville Station located across the street from home.
Bikers and hikers can rejoice, as living so close to the trails at David A. Balfour Park means easy access to the rest of the Toronto Beltline Trail. For drivers, the closest highway is the Don Valley Parkway, which can be accessed via Bayview Avenue.
