About 240 Broadway Avenue — 240 Broadway Avenue Townhomes
In the southwest corner of the CityPlace neighbourhood, the Lumen Condos is a brilliant addition at 6 Fort York Boulevard. Inspired by the high-energy of lifestyle in the city, this luminous development came courtesy of Concord Adex.
Completed in 2016, RAW Architects’ illustrious design resulted in a bright and vivid atmosphere at 6 Fort York. While the structure itself is largely traditional, featuring long expansive balconies and an attractive array of wide windows, a frosted white glaze on much of building pushes the Lumen Condos towards a sparkling, contemporary aesthetic.
RAW’s contemporary design culminates in a spectacular illuminated prism set on top of the Lumen Condos’ 30-storey tower. While this architectural detail does indeed catch the eye, prospective residents may be even more attracted to the gorgeous lobby and podium — it houses every amenity they can ask for.
Aside from the condos' own 24-hour concierge service, residents share the amenities facilities, known as the Prisma Club, with their CityPlace neighbours the Quartz | Spectra Condos. As a result of the cost being shared between these three developments, the Prisma Club boasts extraordinarily extensive recreation and relaxation spaces. Stretched over 3 storeys and even extending outside onto a terrace, the Prisma Club contains an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub, a gym, yoga studio, basketball and badminton court, a massage lounge, a games room, and even an outdoor tai chi deck.
The Suites
Similar to the building’s bright architecture, all of 300 downtown Toronto condos within, whether a one bedroom or two bedroom plus den, are spacious and filled with light. While they range in size from around 500 to 1,000 square feet, every suite’s contemporary design ensures the comfort of residents. And the variation of sizes, ensure that these units are well suited to families or roommates, even those who are seeking Toronto condos for rent for a short term stay.
Chic fixtures and clean lines, courtesy of modern cabinetry chosen by the interior designers at Figure3, let residents live the lap of luxury. They especially enjoy their kitchen’s stainless steel appliances and engineered stone countertops — classic components that complement the Lumen Condos’ contemporary vibe perfectly.
The Neighbourhood
Residents of the Lumen Condos do enjoy being so close to major attractions like the Rogers Centre and CN Tower, nonetheless the neighbourhood’s more intimate local community is equally outstanding. Just south, the diversity of cultural venues in the Lakeshore area welcomes anyone seeking to closely engage with their community.
The Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre at Queens Quay and Bathurst is perhaps the best example of the downtown Lakeshore’s perhaps unexpected local vibrancy. The non-profit Neighbourhood Centre offers many programs that cater to the many new neighbourhood residents living in Cityplace.
For residents who have a green thumb and want to do some good, they can contribute some time and energy to the Waterfront Neighbourhood Centre’s community food gardens. With weekly organic gardening workshops, even the most cosmopolitan of residents can lend a hand.
Conversely, King Street West is a short walk north. It contains many trendy bars, restaurants and nightclubs, so residents indulge in an exciting social scene whenever they please.
Transportation
Sitting between Bathurst and Spadina, those who live at 6 Fort York can easily get around the city — even without a car. Both Spadina and Bathurst have TTC streetcars that run north and south through the Core, which happen to stop right at Fort York.
Alternatively, the Harbourfront Streetcar stops steps away from the Lumen Condos at Bathurst and Fort York. It travels north and south through the Core of the city and alongside Lake Ontario to Union Station.
For those who prefer to drive, the building is just minutes from the highway. Drivers need only take one turn south onto Spadina to access the Gardiner Expressway.
