About 401 King Street W — 401 King Street Condos
The development at 401 King Street West by Tridel and Terracap modernizes the site into a luxury high-rise condominium that’s so much more than just that. The complex also contains retail and office spaces, a hotel, and King West condos for sale that should excite many prospective buyers. Rising out of a charming brick heritage building, which makes up part of its 11-storey podium, the 401 King Condos’ 20- and 37-storey towers are filled with plenty of luxury suites.
Distinctive of Core Architects work, this building is a modern masterpiece. The gleaming translucent glass balconies on the taller tower create clean lines and a smooth finish, resulting in an innovative and contemporary aesthetic.
Conversely, the shorter tower’s masonry integrates beautifully amongst the neighbourhood’s surrounding heritage brick structures. Nonetheless, where both towers meet the podium, a wraparound steel and glass section ties the two looks together with sophistication.
The different designs of the towers come from the developer’s care for the community’s concerns about both design and atmosphere. With that in mind, prospective homeowners can be sure the 401 King Condos exceed their expectations. Tridel and Terracap’s development of the condo has been resoundingly thoughtful and considerate throughout the entire process.
The Suites
The condos contain suites for many different types of families. Of its 443 downtown Toronto condos, a tenth of them are family-sized three bedroom units which span around 1,300 square feet. For younger professionals, 401 King offers studios and one-bedroom suites as well.
The variety of homes, catering to a diversity of prospective residents and their families, is part and parcel of Tridel and Terracap’s conscious effort help the community in King West prosper even further. Of course, meeting such a goal begins at home, so prospective residents can be sure that the suites throughout 401-415 King West will be both modern and comfortable.
The Neighbourhood
Located at the corner of King West and Spadina Avenue, residents live in a distinguished part of the downtown core. Residents are just down the street from the world-renowned TIFF Bell Lightbox. While in September this venue serves as the centerpiece of the Toronto International Film Festival, those living here can enjoy the Lightbox’s curated selection of films throughout the year.
In addition to being home to the city’s most distinguished screenings, many restaurateurs, like the much-acclaimed Canadian chef Susur Lee, have found the neighbourhood to be both inviting and wonderfully supportive. As a result, they have set up shop on King West. Just across Spadina, on King, Frings is a restaurant that Lee co-owns with the rapper Drake, and one of the many great dining experiences prospective residents will be living steps away from.
Even still, residents can’t eat out every night; fortunately, there are many convenient options for picking up groceries in the neighbourhood. Across the street from the building, the Fresh & Wild Food Market’s selection of premium, local, and organic produce is spectacular. Though, when essentials run low, a Shoppers sits just at the end of the block at King and Peter Street as well. Lastly, the Bulk Barn neighbouring the building provides all the baking ingredients, spices, nuts, and candy residents may need.
Transportation
At the intersection of King and Spadina, residents are situated at an enviable part of the public transit network. TTC Streetcars travel along both King and Spadina and serve the downtown core very well. For destinations farther from home, both the 504 King and 510 Spadina take passengers to the subway in no time.
Last but not least, those who do drive are well positioned when living at 401 King West. After riding only a couple minutes south on Spadina, drivers can reach the Gardiner Expressway and be on the fast-track to wherever they’re going.
