About 60 Brian Harrison WayEquinox I Condos

Just slightly south of the Scarborough Town Centre sits the Equinox I Condos, the first of two towers by Monarch Group. Built in 2005, the building reaches to 37 storeys and contains 340 Toronto condos.

As if the shopping mall across the street wasn’t good enough, the developers behind 60 Brian Harrison Way made sure to include plenty of amenities in the building. Residents can work up a sweat in the gym or sauna, or cool off in the indoor pool. The pool at 60 Brian Harrison even uses UV light to keep clean, minimizing the amount of chemicals in the water. Plus, the condo is equipped with a party room, visitor parking, and a 24-hour concierge.

    The Suites

Suite sizes range considerably at 60 Brian Harrison Way, with homes covering between 550 and 1,150 square feet. Condo seekers can expect to find one, two, or three bedrooms Toronto condos for sale in the building, some of which also contain dens. As a bonus, if there's nothing listed for this building then prospective buyers can always check out Equinox II Condos.

Doors to outdoor spaces double as floor-to-ceiling windows, and layouts are open concept, meaning natural sunlight can make its way into every corner of communal space in these homes. Many kitchens at 60 Brian Harrison boast breakfast bars, which make great spots to enjoy a quick meal at any time of day.

    The Neighbourhood

Situated between the Scarborough Town Centre and the Scarborough Civic Centre, 60 Brian Harrison Way really is in the centre of it all in Scarborough. Residents heading over to the mall can leave their cars behind, which might actually save them some time by eliminating the need to search for a parking space.

Not only is this mall home to a Cineplex movie theatre and a Walmart, but it’s also surrounded by a number of major grocery stores. Residents can walk to Real Canadian Superstore in about 15 minutes, or they can reach FreshCo in about 10 minutes.

In terms of outdoor activities, Bendale has a lot to offer. Thompson Memorial Park is within close reach: This public park is home to the Scarborough Historical Museum and the Birkdale Community Centre, a baseball diamond, tennis courts, walking trails, an off-leash dog area, a wading pool, and more. And best of all for the carnivores living in the Bendale neighbourhood, this park hosts Scarborough’s annual Ribfest event.

    Transportation

It’s a toss up as to whether drivers or residents who use public transit are better served by living at 60 Brian Harrison Way. Residents with cars can drive up Brimley or McCowan Road for just a few minutes before reaching an on ramp for the 401.

As for those who rely on the TTC to get around, it certainly doesn’t hurt having a subway station right across the street. After walking for about one minute, residents can enter Scarborough Centre Station and catch a train heading toward McCowan Station to the east, or Kennedy Station for a transfer onto the Bloor-Danforth line.

Commuters who need to reach Union Station in a hurry, on the other hand, have a couple of options. The 9 Bellamy Bus carries passengers to the Eglinton GO Station, and from there Union is just 25 minutes away. Then there’s the 92 Yorkdale GO bus, which provides service between Scarborough Centre Station and North York Centre Station on the Yonge line. Once at York Mills, Union takes about 30 minutes to reach via a southbound subway train.
