About 83 Redpath Avenue — 83 Redpath Residences
While more and more large residential buildings have popped up in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood over the years, this area isn't notorious for its abundance of high-rise towers. For this reason, prospective buyers looking for condos for sale in midtown Toronto would benefit from considering the 83 Redpath Residences.
Built in 2010 by the Benvenuto Group, the building at 83 Redpath Avenue has a simple, contemporary façade. However, stepping inside the front doors will reveal a glam, hotel-like lobby. Even if the luxuriousness of the 83 Redpath Residences seems like something of a secret, all those who successfully voted for the building to win a Pug award for best residential development in 2012 are certainly in on it.
Sitting at a comfortable 21 storeys high, the residences avoids towering over the neighbourhood. Rather, Sweeny & Co. Architects designed an elegant structure with just the right amount of substance and allure.
Environmentally conscious residents will be glad to hear the building shares similar values. Also, those looking for an all-inclusive home are sure to be pleased with the lengthy lineup of amenities found here. Residents can enjoy the party room, cinema, gym and yoga studio, saltwater swimming pool, business centre, rooftop terrace with barbecues, and half-sized basketball court. Also included in the building are guest suites, a concierge, and even a car wash.
The Suites
A grand total of 212 Toronto condos make up the 83 Redpath Residences. And while common elements and styles can be seen throughout the building, sizes range quite considerably, from around 500 to approximately 1,250 square feet. Units come with either one or two bedrooms — with or without dens or studies.
Prospective buyers can expect to find bright living spaces flooded with sunlight pouring in through wall-to-wall windows. Kitchens are modern, and outfitted with stainless steel appliances and tile backsplashes. Flooring materials found throughout 83 Redpath include laminate and carpet.
Making things just a little more luxurious are those small details that often get overlooked: 9-foot ceiling heights, spacious tubs, and comfortably sized balconies.
The Neighbourhood
Located in Mount Pleasant, and just moments from bustling Yonge and Eglinton, residents will have no shortage of options when it comes to shopping, dining out, or being entertained.
Restaurants, cafés, banks, shops, and an expansive Loblaws can be found on Eglinton Avenue East, while the Yonge-Eglinton Centre is the place to go for everything from a bottle of wine to a movie date night. Along Yonge, shops are aplenty as well, including big names like Sporting Life and Sport Check, Best Buy, Lululemon, and so much more. And for those who can’t find what they’re looking for at Loblaws, a large Metro is also not far off, at the corner of Eglinton and Bayview.
Green space is abundant around 83 Redpath as well. Eglinton Park, with its outdoor swimming pool and baseball diamond, will take about 15 minutes to reach on foot. Heading just a few blocks north provides access to ravines leading toward the massive Sunnybrook Park. And for those heading south, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery and David A. Balfour Park aren’t far off either.
When bad weather threatens days off, residents can head over to a number of indoor activities and venues located nearby. Sky Zone Trampoline Park is a great option for sporty types and families alike, while those looking for an education can head over to the Ontario Science Centre or the Aga Khan Museum.
Transportation
Thanks to its midtown locale, residents can enjoy lighter traffic, plus all the access to public transit one could ask for. Drivers can make use of Mt. Pleasant or Yonge Street, both of which will carry travelers toward downtown Toronto. Yonge is a great option for those heading up to the 401 as well.
Speaking of highways, the Don Valley Parkway is also within close reach, and can be accessed via Eglinton Avenue East. From here, a ride up to the suburbs or down to the lakeshore is a breeze.
Those without vehicles of their own are in luck, thanks to the close proximity of Yonge Street. Subway trains on the Yonge line depart from Eglinton Station, which can be reached on foot in about 8 minutes. Alternatively, buses along Eglinton carry passengers east and west, and make stops at Eglinton and Redpath, just half a block from the 83 Redpath Residences.
