About 9 Boardwalk DriveThe Boardwalk II

Nestled right between Woodbine Park and Woodbine Beach is the Boardwalk II Condos at 9 Boardwalk Drive. These low-rise condominiums are perfect for Torontonians who want to live as close to the beach as possible, without having to deal with the congestion and hustle of the downtown core.

Built in 2004, the Boardwalk II Condos have a façade of light pink limestone, brick, and green-tinted glass, matching its identical sister building to the east. As the name suggests, this property is part of a 2 building developments that includes The Boardwalk. The building is steps away from the expansive Woodbine Park to the west, and the sandy shores of Woodbine Beach and the rest of the boardwalk are about 3 minutes away. If you’re looking for luxury condo on a waterfront property within a quiet residential enclave, 9 Boardwalk Drive is an option worth seriously considering.

And for a building of its size, it has quite a few amenities, including a gym, concierge and security services, a party room, barbecues, guest suites, garage parking for residents and guests, storage lockers, a central courtyard, and a conference room. Pets are also allowed at 9 Boardwalk Drive, for those who are concerned about their furry friends.

    The Suites

The Boardwalk II Condos stand at just 5 storeys tall, and hold a total of 98 suites. These suites range from about 600 to 2,300 square feet, and will accommodate single or a paired prospective buyers, or even a family who wants Toronto condos for sale close to the water. Suites come with one or two bedrooms, one to three bathrooms, and additional dens depending on the unit.

Thanks to the lack of taller trees and high-rises in the area, most of the building’s exposures receive plenty of natural light, which enters the homes through near floor-to-ceiling windows. As well, 9 foot ceilings and open-concept dining and living spaces let the spaces breathe even more, making them feel bright and cozy at the same time.

Floors are finished with hardwood, while foyers are finished with luxurious marble. Other elegant details like large closets, crown moulding, and gas fireplaces can also be found in most suites. And wide terraces and balconies at the Boardwalk II Condos offer residents spectacular views of the lake, the beaches, and the downtown Toronto skyline in the distance.

Kitchens at 9 Boardwalk Drive are finished with stone counters, and come with convenient breakfast bars for serving and dining, as well as stainless steel appliances and modern wood cabinetry. Bathrooms are equally luxurious, outfitted with glass door showers and jet soaker tubs. The suites also have ensuite laundry units.

    The Neighbourhood

There is a visibly different vibe between The Beaches neighbourhood and the rest of the city. People are less pushy, there’s more room to get around, and everything is just a bit more relaxed. The streets around 9 Boardwalk Drive are quiet, while busier streets like Queen Street East, just to the north, are filled with plenty of unique shops, restaurants, bars and venues to browse and explore. And residents should keep their eyes and ears open for annual festivals like the Beaches Jazz Festival; there’s usually something interesting going on by the waterfront.

The nearby, and nearly 100 year old, Fox Theatre is a great spot for seeing obscure and classic films, while the Alliance Theatre shows all the newest hits Cineplex has to offer. But why hide away in a dark theater when some of the city’s best parks and outdoor spaces are so close? Beaches Park, Woodbine Park, Ashbridges Bay Park, and Woodbine Beach are all within a reasonable walking distance. In fact, Woodbine Park and Beach are each just a few minutes away from the Boardwalk II Condos.

Several schools also serve the area, such as Kew Beach Junior Public School, Glen Ames Senior Public School, Notre Dame High School, and St. John Catholic School.

    Transportation

If residents can bring themselves to get away from the sunny beaches that are found in their backyard, they won’t find traveling around the city too difficult. By traveling north, residents can reach ample streetcar stops. From here, passengers can travel along Queen Street East. Alternatively, residents can take a bus up to the Woodbine Subway Station, from which they can access trains heading toward the city centre.

Motorists can easily hop onto Lake Shore Boulevard East to reach downtown Toronto, or they can take Queen Street East in order to drive toward the Don Valley Parkway.
