Renting a home in The Kingsway

There are no shortage of neighbourhood’s in the GTA with lofty names and underwhelming features — The Kingsway isn’t one of them.

Nestled in Etobicoke against the western banks of the Humber River, The Kingsway is home to tree-shrouded residential streets lined with houses that could easily be considered estate-homes. Residents have fitness centres and athletic clubs — Memorial Pool And Health Club, Central Tennis Club, Etobicoke Lawn Bowling Club —and there are several large green spaces in the neighbourhood.

Toronto condos for rent in The Kingsway are well suited to families — there are nearby schools, daycares, and retirement communities. Bloor St W provides a gathering place for local businesses; restaurants, pubs, cafes, retail stores, salons, as well as Kingsway Theatre for movies. Additional dining and retail options can be found on Dundas St W to the north.

    Condo Life in The Kingsway

Empty nesters and families might get the most out of this neighbourhood, but condos for rent in The Kingsway have a lot to offer, regardless of your age or lifestyle. Of course, there is one drawback to this neighbourhood, which is somewhat predictable — the cost of rent can be very high, and some buildings are quite exclusive.

Condo hunting on a budget? There are better neighbourhoods for that, but units in buildings like The Essence Condos rent for prices that could be seen as affordable — emphasis on the ‘could be’.

For the most discerning renters, Riverhouse at the Old Mill Condos will pamper you with high-end finishes and luxurious amenities; Old Mill Terrace Residences is another very desirable property, but landing a unit in this boutique residence might be a tall order.

    Transportation

Most residents of The Kingsway can’t run errands on foot; fortunately, there’s great TTC service in the neighbourhood, with bus routes on all major roads, and Royal York Station and Old Mill Station Eastbound Platform are on the southern boundary for subway lines.

Car owners can reach the nearest highway by going south on Islington Ave for the Gardiner Expressway.
