Clanton Park and Wilson Heights — more often referred to simply as Wilson Heights — is a commuter-friendly neighbourhood in the North York area.
Wilson Ave, Bathurst, and Finch Ave are the major roads found in the neighbourhood, and it’s there where most businesses are located; residents have a reasonable selection of dining options in the area, with many locally owned restaurants such as Times Square Diner and Cusina Lounge. And of course, no neighbourhood is complete without a Tim Hortons.
There aren’t any malls within the neighbourhood boundaries, however, Yorkdale Shopping Centre is just south of the 401, and there are big box stores and additional retail options to the west on Wilson Ave. Nightlife options are in short supply — residents have a few spots to relax with a drink like Josie's Sports Bar & Café, but will need to venture outside of their neighbourhood for more.
Because entertainment options are geared towards families, condos for rent in Wilson Heights are ideal for families as well; Earl Bales Park is just east of the neighbourhood and has a ski hill, there’s a Cineplex at Yorkdale shopping Centre, and there are playgrounds sprinkled throughout the neighbourhood. And as you would expect from a family neighborhood — there are several schools.
If you’re interested in Clanton park and Wilson heights condos for rent, you’ll find a burgeoning condo scene — currently, there are at least a dozen buildings in the neighbourhood with more in construction. Unfortunately, the cost of rent is about average in this neighbourhood, and in light of that fact, some renters might prefer to be in downtown Toronto.
The majority of condos for rent in Wilson Heights are found in modern mid-rises buildings. Amenities vary depending on the property, but they’re generally extensive here, and many residences in this neighbourhood come with pools and saunas.
For those who enjoy the finer things and absolutely must have high-end finishes, Gramercy Park Condos is a 13-storey building with hardwood floors and upgraded kitchens; if you’re looking for the lowest cost of rent, you’ll be better off with a unit at Park Place Condos.
Those who prefer to run errands the greener way will need a bicycle, as this neighbourhood isn’t particularly walkable. The area is easily navigated via public transit, as there are multiple bus routes in the neighbourhood, and Sheppard West and Wilson Station are on the western boundary for subway service. Car owners can access the 401 by going south on Allen Rd.
