Renting a home in Clairlea | Golden Mile

When two become one — you’ll have to forgive us for the Spice Girls reference, but in this case it’s wholly appropriate.

Clairlea and Golden Mile are two separate Scarborough areas, joined to form one neighbourhood. Golden Mile occupies the northern portion, and is mostly made up of commercial space, while Clairlea is in the south, and predominantly residential. And to really throw wrench into the middle of things, most condo hunters refer to the neighbourhood simply as Golden Mile even though most residents live in the Clairlea area.

Being a family area, you’ll find several schools, daycares, and parks with playgrounds within its borders. Residents have ample shopping options on Eglinton Ave E — boutiques and big box stores — and also a Cineplex, and well known restaurants such as Boston Pizza and McDonald's. As well, there are offices, manufacturers, and wholesalers north of Eglinton Ave.

Condo Life in Clairlea | Golden Mile

Clairlea and Golden Mile condos for rent are particularly well suited to families — units in this neighbourhood tend to have generous floor plans; properties such as Summerside I Condo Townhomes have units with more than enough space for growing families, and rent for considerably less than comparable units in downtown Toronto.

Golden Mile condos for rent are mostly found in townhouse complexes, which tend to have similar styles, but there is a condo building for those who desire the amenities that come with modern condos: Wilshire on the Green Condos.

    Transportation

Condos for rent in Golden Mile aren’t ideal for those who prefer to run errands on foot. On the other hand, public transit users will have no issues getting around, as there are bus routes on all major roads, Warden Station - Eastbound Platform for subway service, and Kennedy GO for GO Transit.

Car owners can get where they’re going in a hurry by heading west on Eglinton for the Don Valley Parkway.
