About 66 Roxborough Street EThe Roxborough

That Will Ferrell movie, “A Night at the Roxbury,” might come to mind when thinking about the homes at 66 Roxborough Street East. While there’s no doubt it’s funny and entertaining, this movie is also the complete opposite of what the Roxborough Condos offer its residents: refined yet unpretentious homes. Moreover, an address like 66 Roxborough East means these homes are situated in Rosedale - Midtown, a warm, friendly, residential suburb close to downtown Toronto.

Built in 1957, the 4-storey Roxborough Condos still charms many prospective homeowners thanks to its distinguished red brickwork and carefully cultivated landscaping. Its gardens feature many mature trees, vines that grace exterior walls, and flowers spilling over edges of balconies.

All that lush greenery also testifies to the vibrant lifestyle offered to residents. One can find an exciting urban lifestyle just a short walk from Yonge Street in the Yorkville neighbourhood, while each trip out of the house means coming home to an exclusive building on a quiet street.

As such, the condos don’t burden their residents with many expensive, and potentially underused amenities. While there is an on-site sauna, what proves most attractive (and practical) for prospective buyers is the ample underground parking — there’s enough for those living here, as well as for their visitors who will certainly want to explore Rosedale. Yet another selling point is the abundance of natural landscapes that surround the Roxborough Condos, as well as the many exciting neighbourhoods close by.

    The Suites

Friends and family may also visit those living in 66 Roxborough East just to get a glimpse of the elegant living spaces within. With only 10 suites, all Toronto condos for sale here are well-sized, spanning anywhere from around 700 to 1,300 square feet. This includes one- and two-bedroom floor plans with one and two full bathrooms, respectively. And best of all, most of the living spaces in the building even extend onto balconies.

Inside, the suites boast timeless fixtures and finishes. Their traditional aesthetic welcomes residents warmly, especially with many containing a grand fireplace. And, with a generous amount of windows — floor-to-ceiling in living rooms — filling the suites with natural light, the atmosphere feels fresh even after having been around for few decades.

    The Neighbourhood

Bordering the downtown core, which sits just to the south of the Roxborough Condos, the Rosedale neighbourhood is typically considered a residential area — much to the community’s delight. Rosedale’s quiet streets are peaceful, and natural life is quite plentiful.

Still, when residents do want to do some shopping or go out to eat, they can head west down their street in order to find many restaurants and boutiques along Yonge Street. A short walk south on Yonge also delivers residents to Yorkville, a renowned, high-end shopping district, while heading north on Yonge takes one up to the Summerhill neighbourhood.

The fare in Summerhill is scrumptious, a fact highlighted by a number of charming, upscale eateries. However, what many often visit this neighbourhood for is the sprawling LCBO. Even if one doesn’t imbibe, the Summerhill LCBO, at the corner of Yonge and Scrivener Square, is worth a visit. Formerly the North Toronto Railway Station — Toronto’s transportation hub before Union Station was built — this store’s architecture is enchanting.

    Transportation

Although the major transit hub of the city has moved south to the Lakeshore, residents are well served by public transit. The closest TTC station is Rosedale, accessed at street level on the south-east corner of Yonge and Crescent Road — only about a five-minute walk away.

Lucky for those heading uptown or downtown, Rosedale Station sits on the Yonge-University-Spadina subway line, while those with destinations in the east or west end will be happy to hear they can connect to the Bloor-Danforth line after riding just one stop south.

Alternatively, for those who prefer to drive around the city, 66 Roxborough is located close to major arteries like Yonge Street and Bloor. The former spans the length of Toronto, from the Lakeshore well past Steeles Avenue (the northern city limit), while the latter extends west across the city.

A few blocks east of the Roxborough Condos, Bloor becomes Danforth Avenue. Drivers living at 66 Roxborough East may get to know this street quite intimately, as Bloor’s transition into Danforth at Broadview also offers a popular access point onto the Don Valley Parkway.
