Buying a home in Highland Creek

Banded to the north by the 401 and to the south by Kingston Rd, Highland Park is a commuter friendly neighbourhood in Scarborough — well, commuter friendly if you own a car. The neighbourhood is named for the creek which bears its name, and the creek can be found on the southern boundary.

Kingston Rd serves as main street for the neighbourhood and it’s there where most businesses can be found — restaurants, pubs, automotive repair shops, financial services, and a small selection of specialized retail stores. And for additional shopping, SmartCentres Scarborough East is located just north of the 401 and has a Cineplex for some added entertainment.

Highland Creek condos for sale are a great choice for growing families; there are schools in the public and Catholic boards, parks, playgrounds, and Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre is located in the west end. As well, the University of Toronto has a campus in the area.

    Condo Life in Highland Creek

Highland Creek condos for sale are one size fits all — that is to say, that there’s no variety and just one townhouse complex; 6157 Kingston Townhomes is the only development in the neighbourhood, and is in line with most townhouse complexes. Residents get spacious units that offer similar living experiences to that of a house.

Because this is a townhouse complex, condos for sale in Highland Creek don’t come with flashy extras. On the other hand, these units have great value, so buyers who are in need of a 3 bedroom unit will certainly save some money in this neighbourhood compared to downtown Toronto condos.

    Transportation

Highland Creek won’t be setting the world ablaze with pedestrian traffic anytime soon, but condo owners on Kingston Rd can get some things done on foot. There are multiple bus routes in the area, but no subways or GO trains.

The majority of residents in Highland Creek are car owners — William Matter would have a field day here — because drivers can reach the 401 in minutes.
