    Buying a home in Rosedale

Arguably the most prestigious area for homeowners in Toronto, Rosedale is a neighbourhood where many Torontonians have dreamt of living... right up until the moment they learned about the word ‘mortgage’. Home to charming residential streets that are lined with sprawling mansions and shrouded by mature trees, this neighbourhood grants residents with expansive properties in a nature-filled enclave.

And if that was the extent of what Rosedale could offer, it would enough — but with Yonge Street serving as its western boundary and desirable neighbourhoods nearby like Yorkville and Yonge and Bloor, Rosedale condos offer the best of both worlds; a quiet enclave within the city limits and countless entertainment, dining, and shopping options nearby.

Nature lovers will find a lot to love about this neighbourhood, especially with so many green spaces — including some very unique attractions; Chorley Park offers hiking trails and unspoiled woodlands, and just east of the neighbourhood is Evergreen Brick Works, which has a farmer’s market and walking trails with scenic city views. The Park Drive Reservation Lands are also in the neighbourhood, providing walking trails and kayaking on Yellow Creek.

Yonge Street is where most businesses can be found; restaurants, pubs, retail stores, salons, and fitness centres. Parents have great schools to choose from for their children, with plenty of recreation centres to keep the kids busy after school.

    Condo Life in Rosedale

It should come as no surprise that a neighbourhood as exclusive as Rosedale would have some very exclusive condo buildings — 78 Crescent Road Condos for example, has only 4 suites, all of which are in excess of 1200 square feet; these kind of properties are the norm here, as 34 Rowanwood Condos, 104 Rosedale Heights Condos, and Capt Samuel Crangle House, all have few than 10 units each.

There are at least a dozen buildings in the neighbourhood for those seeking Toronto condos for sale — a few of which straddle the line between Rosedale and neighbouring areas — with more in development; it should also come as no surprise that these condos can be pricey, and that countless units in this area have sold for 7 figure price tags.

Budget minded buyers would be wise to look elsewhere, and first-time homebuyers shouldn’t even try to land a unit here, but if you’re absolutely committed to Rosedale Condos, then the Rosedale Ravine Residences is probably your best bet — units are mostly on par with downtown neighbourhoods to the south.

For buyers with more financial freedom — you’re in for a treat. Condos here are luxurious, offer a wealth of extras, and have an incredible location on Yonge Street. Exclusive properties like 1 Chestnut Park Road have suites that range from 3000 square feet to 6000; try finding a house that offers you 6000 feet of living space.

For buyers who want an authentic loft experience — Rosedale condos at the Nursing Lofts will give you just that, but with only 19 units in the building, you could be in for a wait if you have your heart set on one of these lofts.

    Transportation

Rosedale condos on Yonge Street afford residents with a very walkable location — proving that you can have a quiet neighbourhood packed full of green spaces and still have a pedestrian friendly environment. Those with condos in more residential areas, will need public transit or a vehicle to accomplish all of their daily errands.

Fortunately, this neighbourhood has excellent public transit; there are a number of bus routes criss-crossing the neighbourhood, with several routes on Yonge Street, and for longer trips, there are 3 subway stations on Yonge.

Rosedale condos are perfect for car owners — drivers can easily reach the Don Valley parkway by heading south on Bayview for the nearest on-ramp.
